Ambassadors of the Still Standing Alliance work together as a dedicated collaboration of individuals, survivors, advocates, community leaders, and concerned citizens to support victims, empower survivors and work to end domestic violence. By connecting to the larger domestic violence movement, ambassadors are able to more effectively provide support to survivors, impact public policy, and network to gain knowledge and skills.
Resources for Public Policy and Advocacy: Ambassadors receive legislative and policy updates and advocacy alerts about local and national issues impacting those exposed to domestic violence. Through participation in SSA’s Public Policy Initiative, ambassadors help to craft and drive our policy agenda.
In the News: In addition to the monthly informational newsletter, ambassadors receive the exclusive benefit of SSA’s Informational e-Blasts to inform you of events, trainings, and current issues impacting DV work locally and nationally.
Trainings and Meetings: FREE and/or reduced fee trainings, webinars and on-line trainings are provided on a variety of topics related to domestic violence advocacy, leadership and governance. Ambassadors attend bi-monthly ambassador meetings to network and learn about the DV movement locally and nationally. Once trained, you become a certified SSA DV Advocate.
Local and National Domestic Violence Research: SSA provides ambassadors with the latest research and statistics related to the local and national hotline, fatalities and trends.
Recognition on SSA Website and Personalized Ambassador Flyer: Ambassadors received recognition via our website, social media outlets and newsletter as well as a personalized Ambassador flyer with your photo to share with your network.
